No one needs to review the numbers to know that Google is the first search engine choice on the Web. It’s also easy to guess the second choice: Yahoo. But Bing, which is relatively new to the world of search engine giants, has made it as the third most highly ranked medium for finding information online. Therefore, it has become an essential thing to do for all bloggers and site owners to make their site bing-friendly as well for maximum potential. Because there are numerous ‘hardcore bing users’ all over the world.

Today I’ll tell you why Bing has a potential future ahead and how it strives to tease web surfers away of Google. Considering the facts that are covered in this post, every blogger is advised to take some time for bing-optimization as well.

Consumers Find Bing Entertaining
Bing is not content with its number-three standing, however, and has plans in place to overtake Google searches in strategically selected areas. The Microsoft search engine’s most recent platform is Bing Entertainment, which aims to provide better and more efficient ways to search for music, movies, TV shows, and games.

Bing Brings the Music
Powered by Microsoft Zune, Bing now streams over 5 million music tracks directly from its browser, providing users with full-length audio for the first time each individual track is selected. After a full-length track has been played once, however, that listener can only access thirty-second samples unless the song is purchased. Additional features (such as streaming industry news, listing concerts, and providing lyrics) are intended to give Bing an edge over Google and Yahoo on music searches.

TV and Game Features
In the realm of TV shows, Bing Entertainment provides full-length episodes for selected shows and will soon incorporate a feature that gives users local TV listings. Microsoft games like Bejeweled are also being archived on Bing, along with short descriptions and immediate play access.

Film Feature Flop and the Future
While Bing is making an effort to enable users to search for theaters playing their favorite movies, film is currently a weakness in the search engine’s entertainment feature. Movie trailers and music videos are available, along with movie reviews and highlight reels, but actual movies are missing. If Bing can make film a stronger part of its specific search venture, it may have a chance at rivaling Google as an entertainment search engine.

Bing and Blogging
For bloggers, another search engine often means learning how to apply SEO all over again. Fortunately, Bing is very similar to Google in its optimization, so many of the same SEO principles apply. For example, to get hits for your blog on Bing, you’ll want to keep writing original content without duplicating, use simple sentences, and avoid heavy keyword use. You might also submit your website to Bing, but keep checking to make sure that you’re showing up in search results because you can be removed from the Bing index. Remember that Bing could still be testing ranking algorithms, so your blog may not show up consistently on a search results page.

Google Wave is now open for Everyone

Some of us might be thinking that Google Wave is a total flop and the search giant is not taking any/much care of it. Well, the most recent post at the Google Wave Blog proves us wrong. Google Wave is out of preview version and it has been made ‘open to everyone’.

Anyone willing to preview Google Wave used to have an invitation from someone who already has access to Google Wave. But now, no one needs an invitation any longer. You can sign up for your Wave account immediately by logging in to wave.google.com using your google/gmail account username and password.

Google claims that the new version of Wave is much better than what you’ve experienced earlier. It urges you to give it one more try even if you were disappointed by Wave earlier. I think, Wave is worth a try, at least! Wave is also available for webmasters who have been using Google Apps for their websites. You can now use Wave for your business, communication and others, too.

Seems like Google is becoming pretty much active these days. It now updates its PageRank more often. Well, that’s a good news for website owners, isn’t that? Of course it is. That’s why I’m feeling so happy to announce that this blog close to its first anniversary and at the same time its PageRank has been upgraded to 3! (Congratulations invited )

AISajib.com is the first domain owned by me in my online journey so far. It was bought from a Bangladeshi Web hosting and IT solution company, WebHostBD.com. In first few days, I wrote a few personal posts on this blog. Later, I came to understand that I should choose a specific topic to write about. That’s when AISajib.com turned into a technology and blogging related blog.

Since then, I tried my best to write technology and blogging tips that worked when I tried and those tips that I found worked for others. I tried to build a good relationship with others interested in and writing about the same topic. Fortunately, I occasionally got backlinks from various blogs that has a high Google pagerank. That’s why my blog’s first Google pagerank was 2, skipping 1.

And now, it is 3. I hope in next pagerank update, AISajib.com will obtain PageRank 4 from the search giant and pagerank provider, Google. However, none of this will be possible if you are not with me. I always appreciate comments you post, time you spend on my blog reading my posts, recommend to others and promote them on social media, and link back from your blog to mine. I hope none of you will stop reading my post and will accompany me in the long [web-based] run!

Do You Need A Google Wave Invitation?

Update: Google Wave has been made available for everyone so that you don’t need an invitation to try out the service. Read this post for more.

Google had knocked the entire world before it released its Wave service, which I still don’t understand what that is all about. Google at first sent testing invitations to around a million users, and then started spreading the ‘right to use’ wave among other users via those who already got a Google Wave invitation.

Google Wave sounded much, but I think, it’s a little flop.

On the other hand, there was almost no sound about Google’s latest social media tool called “Buzz” before it was released. The day before Buzz came out, we had reports that Google was going to put itself into direct competition with Facebook and twitter (and friendfeed, also) soon with something brand new and innovative. We didn’t get much time to wait before Buzz was released. Luckily, we didn’t need anyone’s ‘mercy’ to use Google Buzz. We just had to wait a little bit until it was rolled out to Gmail.

Since the first day, literally, I fell in love with Buzz although you will not find me pretty regular there. It’s a lot more user-friendly than Wave. It’s fast, it’s amazing. And it was built under the hood of Gmail so we don’t have to go to another location to use the service. That’s another reason why I loved this buzz from Google.

Today, just after curiosity started pushing me, I paid a visit to Google Wave and noticed that there were some messages from my friends and contact list. I replied all of them stating that I like Buzz more than Wave, so I won’t log on to Google Wave regularly.

Power of inviting!

While exploring other unread Waves at my Google Wave account, I suddenly noticed that there was a new wave sent by the Google Wave. I opened it and saw that I was given the power of inviting new users to try out Google Wave. “It’s been late”, I thought to myself, “because people are likely to spend much time on Buzz.”

The question is, am I right?

I think there might be people out there who are still interested in trying out Google Wave. Maybe even some people have fallen into love with Google Wave. For those who are still interested in trying out Google Buzz, I have good news. I’m giving away Google Wave invitations in public. All you need to do is just drop me a message in this post as a comment and I will send you an invitation.

How to Add Google Buzz This Button to WordPress Posts

Google did not fail to buzz the technology world with its latest service called “Buzz” integrated into its existing email service Gmail. Apparently, it’s a combination of twitter and facebook, enabling users to share their updates, include links and photos from picasa or flickr and fetch updates from twitter. This is so far the biggest and the most relevant move by Google to actually compete with Facebook and twitter.

Google Buzz also comes with Google’s RSS reading service, Google Reader. Here you won’t see anything called Buzz, but you will be following those Google Reader users who you follow on Buzz. It’s like sharing a link to a post or an article with all to your followers. Not to mention you can make updates private, too.

As Google Buzz is another growing social media tool, developers have created plugins to let wordpress bloggers put a ‘buzz this’ button after all wordpress posts so that readers can share the content they like with their buzz followers.

I think I don’t need to say that I’ve recently integrated “Buzz This” button to all of my posts on this blog. You must have been seeing the button live now.

Adding Buzz This button to your wordpress blog is as simple as installing and activating a plugin. There are a few plugins out there but there’s only one that I found user-friendliest and easiest to use. Here’s my recommendation:

WordPress G_Buzz_Button

Download WordPress G_Buzz_Button from the wordpress plugin directory or install it directly to your wordpress via built-in plugin installer. Use the search term “G_Buzz_Button” and you will be able to install and activate it immediately.

After you activate, there will be an option named Google Buzz visible under your settings menu. Clicking that will lead you to the plugin settings page, which looks like the following.

From the settings page, you can turn buzz counter on or off, set the alignment of the button, and edit Custom CSS for both the style of the button and the text. I’ve come through many other plugins that adds buzz this button but none of them looked offering all of these facilities. That’s why I choose this plugin as the best for placing buzz this button anywhere on your wordpress posts.

Google Tells You What it Knows About You

At last, Google showed that it fears criticism as well. Some people were concerned about their privacy, especially those who vastly use Google’s technologies such as Gmail, Orkut, iGoogle, Google Latitude, Blogger, etc. Considering about those people who are aware of their privacy, Google now released their “Dashboard” service under what you can see and edit what information Google has about you.

The Dashboard concept is pretty simple. You can login to Google Dashboard using your Google account. Dashboard will show you a list of services you are using. The lists have a link to edit settings/privacy settings directly from them. This way, you don’t have to check all the services to update your privacy option or something like this. You are getting a list of as many as 20 popular Google services in the dashboard, including Google Docs, Contacts, Calendar, Orkut, Profile, YouTube, etc.

However, Google hasn’t listed all the services under the dashboard yet. Currently, only a number of 20 services are available inside dashboard. You can view the list of remaining services you are using. You can directly go to those services by clicking on them.

Google Products

In a word, Google Dashboard contains a summary of the entire data stored under a certain Google account. From now on, you can easily manage all of the services you use, and go to their individual sites all from a single page.

Introducing the Google Chrome Operating System!

Breaking news: Google released a note saying that it is to release its first operating system for computers named Google Chrome OS by the second half of the next year.

A hope was floating on the net whether Google will design a completely new operating system for computers after they had created a brand new OS for mobile named Android. Right now, the hope has turned into a news — as Google says, its first browser was created for the next generation web-world. But Chrome still runs on the operating systems which were designed for a generation which has been passed. Now, Google is going to design a new operating system for the next generation web-world — named Google Chrome Operating System.

According to the note of Google, Google Chrome OS will initally (in mid-2010) be targeted at netbooks. It is expected that the OS for PC users will be available by the end of the next year. This will be another open-source and lightweight version of OS.

Here goes a little paragraph from the Google note:

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.

Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and Google is working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. In the Google Chrome OS, all application will automatically work and any developer can write any application using the latest technology they like. The software architecture of Google Chrome OS is — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel.

A while ago when Microsoft launched its new search engine, the people around said that the competition between Google and Microsoft has just got bigger. But we forgot that it was Google — who made the competition much more difficult by entering into the most competitive market — operating system – while there are popular operating systems like Linux and Windows 7.

Of course a lot of questions are coming up to mind. But as usual, Google did not clarify everything. We have just been notified that, Google is entering the Operating System market by the second half of the next year.

What do we know

There’s no certain information about Google. But there’s some predictions. Just like:

The OS is possibly going to be free-of-cost. Since Google said that it’s an open-source browser, there is still hope that the Google Chrome Operating System will be available at no cost.
Advertisements maybe found on Google Chrome OS. If Google is going to release it at no cost, then there’s a prediction that Google may advertise on it. For a fresh example, while browsing your hard drive’s music files, a couple of advertisements in anywhere of the window will grab your attention to buy music online. Note: This is just a prediction. We still don’t have any clear information about this.

Can Google beat Microsoft?

With the first post of Google Chrome OS, Google just dropped a nuclear bomb on Microsoft. Now, the question is, we all know about the products of Google. Speed, simplicity, user-friendliness, security etc are the main things that makes a Google product perfect. Google said that the new OS from Google’s key aspect will be Speed, Simplicity and Security. However, we still can’t really imagine what Google is going to give us. But there’s no restriction to predict the future.

So, the question is simple. Do you think Google Chrome Operating System can beat Windows? What do you expect from Google Chrome OS?

Google has updated PageRank :: Mine is 2 now!

Perhaps it’s today when Google has updated the entire pagerank database. I’ve come to know about this through a blogsite where a blogger said Google has done it right today. Without any delay I went to a PageRank checker and started to find out the updates of different websites I use almost everyday. Suddenly, I remembered I myself own some blogs and I should check their PageRank before anything else. So, again, without any delay, I’ve checked the PageRank for this blog and I was so happy to see a rise in my PR. Previously my PR was 0 as mine is still a child blog. But after the update, aisajib.com gained a PageRank value of 2 out of possible 10. WOW! I’m still inactive in this blog. Yet I’ve gained this rank. What will happen if I pay much attention to it? Maybe I’ll get a significant value of rank in future.

I need traffic along with ranking for my blog. I also want readers’ comments on posts. But the problem is, I’m not good in English. You see that my last post was published few weeks ago. You don’t know that, everyday I open a new document in Microsoft Word with different topics to write about. But since English is not my primary language and I’m not frequent in it, I can’t write more than several sentences. It’s tough for a sixteen years old boy to have good knowledge in English while it is a foreign language to him. So, I close the document with a sigh full-of-sorrows.

So what is PageRank?
PageRank is what Google uses to determine the importance of a web page. It’s one of many factors used to determine which pages appear in search results.

What does PageRank do?
PageRank measures a web page’s importance.
Page and Brin’s theory is that the most important pages on the Internet are the pages with the most links leading to them. PageRank thinks of links as votes, where a page linking to another page is casting a vote.
PageRank doesn’t stop there. It also looks at the importance of the page that contains the link. Pages with higher PageRank have more weight in “voting” with their links than pages with lower PageRank. It also looks at the number of links on the page casting the “vote.” Pages with more links have less weight.

Why PageRank is important?
PageRank is one of many factors that determine where your web page appears in search result ranking, but if all other factors are equal, PageRank can have significant impact on your Google rankings.

Google is the most powerful and most popular ‘search engine’ in the Web World. Most of the internet users use Google Search Engine for searching purpose in the World Wide Web. But since Google is not a human being, you have to know how to give it the search terms. One of my friends (the first commentator of this post) said to me once that Google treats her in a wrong way. That means she never gets exactly what she asks google for. Well, I say, you have to know how to ask google. If you ask google in a wrong manner, definitely Google’s result will not satisfy your necessity. So here goes some tips for you on how to search accurately using Google Search Engine.

Article or Web Search

In case of searching a news or any other kind of article or any sort of website, just type your keyword in the Google’s search box and hit enter [to save your time]. For example, if you are looking for a website about technology, write ‘technology’ in the search box and hit enter. In search result, you will get all the relevant websites or articles sorted in term of accuracy.

Definition Search

My friend was asking Google for definition of something like Ventriloquism. I do not exactly remember what she actually searched for. Let’s guess it was Ventriloquism what’s definition she was looking for. In case of its definition, type “define: ventriloquism” in the search box and hit enter. In reply, you’ll have seen all the definitions of “Ventriloquism” that google has got so far from the World Wide Web.

Difference between something

My friend asked Google for the difference between Psychiatrist and Psychologist. I don’t know how did she ask google as she didn’t get the answer. When she told me that Google is not giving proper information to her, I immediately searched google writing the following term: “What’s the difference between psychologist and psychiatrist?” I pressed enter writing this term and in result page, I found a lot of web pages and article links which described me accurately what are the differences between Psychologist and Psychiatrist. So you have to ask it in the proper way.

Image Search

In http://www.google.com page’s upper left corner, you will have the links to switch between web, images, documents, youtube, books etc. Click Images. A page with a search box and a message “The most comprehensive image search engine in the world” will appear. Now, in the search box, type what kind of image you are looking for. For example, type “Deep blue sea” if you are really looking for some pictures of ‘deep blue sea’. Remember, “Deep Blue Sea” is also the name of a hollywood based movie so it is simple that google will present both “Deep Blue Sea” [movie] and the real deep ‘blue sea’ pictures in the search return.

For more search terms, I recommend Google! Yes, ask google for ‘search terms’. It will let you know how to ask it. If you don’t know how to ask it, you will be asking it in a wrong way. As a result, it will be providing you the wrong result in return. So, search google for more search terms, and be the boss of Search like me.
