My blogging life was started with the free blogging platform of wordpress, wordpress.com where I was able to write blogs for free and upload images upto 3 gigabytes for free. At that time, the dashboard of wordpress was not as well as today’s wordpress dashboard is. The main color of dashboard was blue. I felt so excitement while using the awesome features of wordpress in its free blogging platform.

I had left free platform few weeks ago and moved on to a self-hosted blog. I got a domain with my name and a hosting from Hasan bhai. He installed the wordpress engine for me and setup the entire blog, database and everything else. Once done, I was given my username and password. I entered into the wordpress 2.7.1 version’s dashboard and started customizing my blog’s look. Previously I didn’t know what the plugins are and what their use is. So for the very first time, I installed some plugins and activated it and got shocked. Wow! In a word, it’s great! That plugin thing is making my blog awesome. It is now tough to realize seeing my blog that I don’t have any knowledge on coding.

In previous days, I thought upgrading wordpress is a complex task that I will have to do each time a new version of wordpress is released. But what do we see now? Upgrading is a matter of a few clicks. WordPress completes the upgrading precess automatically.

Not only development things, a lot of new features have been included in the latest version of wordpress. I think I can’t imagine what new features wordpress will include in its upcoming versions. WordPress is making blog not only easier, but also smarter, enjoyable and fun. After my experience with wordpress in almost one month, the only words I found to express, are: WordPress Rocks!

If blogging and making money with it has been a long cherished dream of you, and if you believe you have time, patience and a topic of interest to blog about, it's time to kick off your first blog with a perfect domain and reliable hosting. If you already have a blog, make sure you have an outstanding premium theme if you run WordPress. Only content may not bring success; creativity and design matter a lot.

If you're looking for a theme with top quality design and custom options that take no time to change your blog into whatever you like, the best would be WooThemes. If your budget is low, try ThemeForest for great quality WordPress themes at an affordable rate.

On the other hand, if you are more focused and serious in blogging, you should go with some framework. Highly suggested framework is Genesis which is recommended by top class bloggers including Chris Brogan. Headway is another alternative at an affordable price. If you have time to spend for blog development and willing to make it extremely customized, Thesis by DIY themes is also in the list.
